Last Meeting

On Sunday, July 26th, yours truly Bruce P. arrived at the Morrisburg Antiquefest and met up with 10 members who were browsing about at the various booths of antiques and collectibles.  One thing of interest was a set of 6 green Fireglaze coffee mugs that caught my attention as we have 5 of the same. The price of $95.00 immediately changed my mind about purchasing them.

The day was warm and somewhat humid but it was nice to be out along the St. Lawrence River, especially when we all went over to the home of Dave and Barb Black for lunch and conversation before we went back to the Upper Canada Playhouse at Morrisburg to see the play, Wrong For Each Other.  Sixteen of us saw the play and had a great time.

After the play ended, we again headed back to the Blacks’ and were treated to barbequed Oktoberfest sausages, compliments of the Blacks along with various salads, cold cuts, desserts and drinks.  Their home, hospitality, the view of the St. Lawrence River and of course the lack of rain made for a very enjoyable Rideau Valley club outing.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Dave and Barb Black for arranging the day's activities, including the purchase of the playhouse tickets.
