Marilyn stressed that we desperately need volunteers to help out with the flea market. We need 6 people for the front gate and 2 for the back gate. She said that cooking takes people away from the other tasks.
Marilyn said:
the setup on Saturday isn’t too bad.
Last year we reduced the tickets to half price early in the afternoon
This year we will cut off the gate at noon or if it’s busy 12:30 or 1:00.
Rent has increased this year
We should look at increasing the entrance fee for 2011.
Ric Harry said that he will volunteer for Saturday and parking on Sunday.
Kirk Massi is also volunteering to work the front gate on Sunday.
John Burger volunteered to work the front gate as well.
Rob Sauder is going to do the BBQ and Steve Massi has volunteered to help.
We need someone to help out with PR, Marilyn expressed hopes of Don Heatherington and Lyle MacDougall manning the PR table.
Don mentioned that we are also going to need someone to sell tickets.
Marilyn stressed that the positions need to be filled by next month.
George Ellis will be going to the Kitchener flea market and he’s going to drop off flyers for distribution.
George Ellis brought HASC Central flea market flyers to the meeting and asked that everyone take a few flyers to distribute in the Niagara area.
New Business – Ric Harry asked if everyone would be interested in him doing a presentation on Water Chemistry at our next meeting. He received a positive response so he’s going to bring a mini-lab to analyse the content of our water samples. He will not only be able to determine the content but also exactly where the water came from.
Jim Sauder asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. George Ellis motioned to adjourn, seconded by Ric Harry.
The meeting was followed by an interesting presentation by Dave Morningstar; he took us through his 5 year project, building a canoe from scratch. The presentation was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
