Jim Robillard Presentation
The club enjoyed a presentation by Jim Robillard from Ontario Hydro on February 25. He outlined the importance of safety and understanding the principles of electricity. Jim tours the elementary and secondary schools teaching children how to be safe around electric cords, hydro wires, sub stations and what to do in case of accident in the presence of live electrical wires. He demonstrated what can happen to a human being if exposed to live electric wires when grounded, also when digging in the ground, flying kites too close to hydro wires, digging toast out of a toaster with a knife and having a hydro pole fall on your car.
